Posterous Shuts Shop to Focus on Twitter

Posterous, a blogging engine, which aimed at being simple and started off with blogging by email and evolved through to capabilities of photo and note sharing, has announced that it is shutting shop on April 30.

Announcing the development on its blog Posterous noted that their mission was to simplify the process of sharing photos and connect with social networks. After Twitter’s acquisition, they have been able to work on a more boarder scale and that they plan to completely devote their time to Twitter.

“On April 30th, we will turn off posterous.com and our mobile apps in order to focus 100% of our efforts on Twitter”, Posterous noted on its blog.

Posterous spaces will cease to exist after April 30 thereby users have been advised to download all their Posterous spaces over the period of next two months. “Right now and over the next couple months until April 30th, you can download all of your Posterous Spaces including your photos, videos, and documents.”
