Issues for the online encyclopedia cropped up at about 6:30 AM PT and since then it is struggling to get back on its feet. Most of the pages are being rendered after their content styles have been stripped off.
Currently a trending topic on twitter, users across the globe are busy questioning to reasons behind the outage or venting their anger on the site. Students might be particularly affected by this outage.
“Wikipedia Is Down. Good Bye A's on school :(“ tweeted one user. "Wikipedia Is Down.... I suddenly feel more ignorant. It's like not having Loki beside you during a school test.” tweeted another.
But, there are quite a few funny tweets floating around as well. One of the users tweeted, “Wikipedia is down. Jimmy Wales got his iCloud account hacked?” tweeted one user.
