Pirated Copy of 'Gears of War: Judgement' Appears Online, Microsoft Vows Vigorous Actions

Microsoft has warned users against downloading and playing the pirated version of the yet to be officially released “Gears of War: Judgment” after a pirated version of the game popped up on the Internet.

It seems that a full version of the game Gears of War: Judgment  appeared on a number of private trackers overnight a full month before its official launch date i.e. March 19. Microsoft reacted promptly and has declared that it will take “vigorous action” against those who download the pirated version. Redmond has also warned that users may be banned for life from X-Box live – a similar tactic it had adopted for the Halo 4 situation last year.

Microsoft said in a statement to Eurogamer, “We are aware of isolated cases in which Gears of War: Judgment content has been propped on the web and are working closely with our security teams and law enforcement to address the situation immediately."

"Consumers should be aware that piracy is illegal and we take vigorous action against illegal activity related to our products and services. Playing pirated copies of games, such as Gears of War: Judgment, is a violation of the Xbox Live Terms of Use and will result in enforcement action, such as account and console bans", Microsoft added further.

This is not the first time a Microsoft game is leaked on the internet prior to its official release. Back in 2011, Gears of War 3 and Halo 4 witnessed similar leaks.
