Yuval Steinitz, Israel’s finance minister, without revealing the name of the site that was hacked claimed that out of the millions of attempts, hackers were successful only in one instance reports Reuters. Steinitz claimed that the government had adequate defenses in place and that cyber-attacks on Israel were a common thing and that the government fends off few hundred of such attempts every day.
"The ministry's computer division will continue to block the millions of cyber attacks," said the minister reports Reuters. "We are enjoying the fruits of our investment in recent years in developing computerized defence systems."
These cyber attacks have allegedly originated from Palestinian territories but, these allegations seem to be baseless as no concrete proof has been reported. Anonymous has already claimed that are responsible for the attacks.
Anonymous wrote, "It has come to our attention that the Israeli government has ignored repeated warnings about the abuse of human rights, shutting down the internet in Israel and mistreating its own citizens and those of its neighbouring countries.”
