Corning is known for its Gorilla Glass range of scratch and fingerprint resistant displays and the technology found in many top end smartphones and tablets is now coming to laptops near you later this year.

Corning has introduced its Glass NBT for touch-screen laptops which not only promises the ultra-strong display but, also brings with it enhanced scratch resistance, strength of the Gorilla Glass 3 and reduced flaw visibility. Dell is the first laptop vendor which has signed up for the NBT and it will be using the displays in some of its laptops this year itself.

James R. Steiner, SVP and General Manager, Corning Specialty Materials announcing the NBT said, “We are confident that Corning Gorilla Glass NBT will challenge the current performance of soda-lime glass as demand for touch-enabled notebooks continues to grow.”
