As per the release engineering team’s mailing list announcement FreeBSD 9.2 feature freeze is currently in effect while the ‘slush’ code was release last week. This week will see the release of freeze code while starting July 19, the Beta 1 build will start followed by beta 2 build from July 26.

August will see release of RC1, RC2 and RC3 tentatively only August 2, 9 and 16 respectively. Overall there will be two Beta releases in July and three candidate releases in August.

There are quite a few good features slated for FreeBSD 10 but, FreeBSD 9.2 will be the next release for the distribution. We will detail the features of FreeBSD 9.2 as its release nears.
