LG Optimus G2 is slated for release sometime later this year and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, 5-inch full HD display. The rumoured 3GB of RAM may very well be true considering that the Snapdragon 800 processor is the latest mobile chipset available and it could definitely up its performance ante if given sufficient memory.

Once released the G2 will directly compete with the likes of Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone which is powered by eight-core Samsung Exynos chip or quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chip.

If LG does put in 3GB of Low Power Dynamic Data Range 3 RAM, it would be the first company to do so and there are rumours that smartphone vendors are already planning 4GB RAM handsets.
