Announcing the release of rc7, Torvalds wrote, “So this is hopefully the last -rc in the series, and things have indeed be calming down finally, so assuming that trend continues, we’re all good.”

Torvalds stressed that he wants more and more testing to be done and regressions to be reported. The latest release candidate is packed with fixes all over the place and also includes drivers as well as architecture updates. Torvalds has himself calmed down after his profanity warnings during rc5 release.
