The smartphones will be powered by dual-core 1.7GHz and 1.4GHz processors respectively and both of them will have Android 4.2 as the mobile OS. The 6.3-inch variant will have an HD display capable of 720p resolution while the 5.8-inch variant will have a qHD display of just 540 pixels. No information about pricing has been revealed yet.

Continuing on with other smartphone news, the Korean electronics giant unveiled its flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone and based on the region the S4 will pack either the Exynos 5 Octa or Snapdragon 600 processor. S4 in the US and Europe will be launched with a Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.9GHz while the S4 that will be launched in rest of the world will feature Exynos 5 Octa processor clocked at 1.6GHz speeds. According to recent benchmark tests even though the Exynos 5 is clocked at lower speeds it outperforms the S4 with Snapdragon 600 processor by miles.

Microsoft is reportedly preparing a 7-inch Surface tablet that will pitched against the likes of Amazon’s Kindle Fire HD and Google’s Nexus 7 tablets. Despite the initial reluctance of releasing a 7-inch tablet, the success of Android tablets with smaller screen sizes may have instigated Microsoft to build a smaller Surface tablet.
