According to The Verge, work on the preview version of the next generation OS began this month and will be available for download soon. Microsoft will hold its next Build developer conference in San Francisco where the public preview of Windows Blue will be unveiled. Microsoft acknowledged the existence of Windows Blue in a post in its blog.

We have already come across some screenshots showing new features of the Windows 8 successor. Microsoft is working to build some new Windows 8 apps which will run side-by-side on the devices with smaller display. Microsoft will also introduce alarm app, calculator, movie making program and many more such apps according to the leaked screenshots.

Microsoft will also remove the resolution limit on its Snap View and the apps will be able to occupy multiple Snap Views. This will allow the users to read their inbox while composing an email at the same time.

The Windows Blue will be available to the public by the end of 2013 after the release of public preview.
