Recently some reports suggested that BlackBerry 10 had been blacklisted by CESG. A CESG spokesman said in a statement to V3 that, “We are in ongoing discussions with BlackBerry about the use of BlackBerry 10 in government, we have a strong security partnership with BlackBerry and this gives us confidence that BlackBerry 10 is likely to represent a viable solution for UK government.”

BlackBerry was also quick enough to respond to these rumors and claimed that the ruling of CESG is delayed due to a restructuring of its review process. BlackBerry spokesperson on relationship with CESG, “BlackBerry has a long-established relationship with CESG and we remain the only mobile solution approved for use at ‘Restricted’ when configured in accordance with CESG guidelines, we are continuing to work closely with CESG on the approval of BlackBerry 10 and we’re confident BlackBerry 10 will only strengthen our position as the mobile solution of choice for the UK government.”

Previously BlackBerry 7.1 got security clearance back in 2012. BlackBerry announced its new BlackBerry 10 OS along with BlackBerry Z10 in February. BlackBerry claims security features in OS 10 will be the key selling point.
