Last year Google confirmed that Google Glass could accommodate frames and lenses and we have already heard the rumors that Google might partner with eyeglass makers to make this thing possible.

Google has confirmed its plans for prescription glasses on Google+ and also showed off a picture of Greg Priest-Dorman, who is a member of the Glass Team.

“The Glass design is modular, so you will be able to add frames and lenses that match your prescription, and we’re still perfecting the design for prescription frames. Although the frames won’t be ready for the Explorer Edition’s release, hang in there—you can expect to see them later this year”, notes Google.

Unfortunately prescription compatibility will not be ready for the Explorer Edition. Google has confirmed that its augmented reality glasses will go on sale by end of this year for less than $1500. A version 2.0 of Google Glass is also rumoured to be in the making.
